When opening a project, users may at times find that product information has become outdated. These areas can be easily identified by their red text. Additionally, for those who have difficulty seeing red text, a red triangle is also placed in the upper right hand corner of the box containing the outdated information.
Information can become outdated from manufacturers updating their product lines & records and can affect any of the details related to a product. i.e. list price, spec, weight, class, ect
When you place your mouse cursor over the outdated information you will see a red box containing an exclamation mark appear. Putting your mouse cursor over the red box containing the exclamation mark tells you what information is outdated.
In the case where you have information for an item that has becomes outdated you have two options available to update & correct the information.
The first is to click the red box containing the exclamation mark. Doing this will update the information within the cell.
The second is to right click on the item, select 'Update From Catalog' from the drop down menu and then select which information you wish to update. This method can be very useful when multiple values for the selected item have becomes outdated. If you wish to update all outdated values at once, simply choose ‘All’ from the drop down menu.
Have multiple items to update & don't want to do them individually? No problem.
Select a single item on the spreadsheet by clicking on it. Press CTRL+A on your keyboard to select/highlight all the items on the spreadsheet. Right click on any of the highlighted items, select 'Update From Catalog' from the drop down menu & then select which information you wish to update.
